Is it no longer a sin to take the Lord's name in vain?
I don't see why it is not possible to make a film and leave out the Lord's name being used that way.  Call me a prude, I don't care.  It is more important for me to please God than to please man.

James 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Wow I do NOT want to be an enemy of God.  Do you?

Sat, 18 Apr 2009 20:37:05 -0700 Shopping http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/shopping-562 http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/shopping-562 I am having a hard time finding clothes lately.

Everything is low cut, scoop neck, cap sleeves and just plain ugly. I am almost a plus size and not sure why all the clothes my size are so darn ugly. It is so frustrating that nothing fits or flatters you. The patterns are garish, the fabric is cheap and very thin usually and the fit is terrible. I am just looking for some classic pieces that will last a few seasons, but they are really hard to come by. So I came home with money in my pocket instead of some new spring things. Not a bad deal really. I didn't really "need" anything.

It is okay for me to come out of a store empty handed, but today my heart felt empty too. I walk around alone amongst all the couples, my husband rarely goes anywhere with me. I don't let it stop me from doing anything, but sometimes the devil sure uses it to make me feel lonely. I am glad that I am onto him and his tricks, but every once in a while it gets to me.

I am so grateful to God for saving me because without Him I would have no hope, there is a lot of comfort in knowing that this world is not all there is.

Mon, 13 Apr 2009 21:29:06 -0700 truth http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/truth-40 http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/truth-40 I found some empty liquor bottles buried in the trash 2 weeks ago. My heart raced and I felt so afraid but no matter how hard I try I can't deny the fact that my husband is an alcoholic any longer.
There I said it. I am not even sure why I feel a sense of shame about it, but I do.

The week went by and I didn't mention the empty bottles. Our trash pick up is Monday, so the following week I dug through the trash again after he left for work and pulled out more empty bottles. This time I lined them up on the laundry room counter and took a picture. Proof? Not really sure why, but I now have 3 pictures of liquor bottles in various places in my laundry room so I can prove they were different times. But who am I ever going to show them to, and why do I think I need proof? I am not going to leave him over this, I believe that God will bring me through this, and thankfully he is not abusive. Well not physically, but he sure can get mean and until I found the bottles I could not figure out why he could be so mean at times, when he is basically a really sweet guy.
Well... a selfish, deceitful, antisocial, non motivated really sweet guy who apparently spends a lot of money on drinking that I didn't even know about.

Although there was that one time that I called 911 and hid in some bushes outside because he was so roaring drunk and I afraid he would hit me. (Wow that sounds really bad when you actually type it out!)

And that phone call at 4 am from the police station to come bail him out for drunk driving. He actually said he was not drunk driving because his car broke down on the side of the road and the police pulled over to help and ended up arresting him. BUT technically he wasn't driving, right? To this day he won't admit it. I did not go pick him up, I left him there and he had to call his sister. No way was I bailing him out when I had been telling him to not drink and drive for years. I lost a lot of respect for him when that happened, and still haven't gotten it all back. But it is funny because that was an answer to prayer, I prayed that God would stop him from drinking and driving so no one would get killed, and after the DUI he did stop.

Then the court ordered AA meetings he would go to every Sunday, never failing to pick up beer on the way home.

But it was always "just beer", 90% water(yes he says that), just a beverage and I can quit anytime, honey. Somehow the hard stuff kicks it up a notch and makes it a lot scarier than "just beer".

I am trying so hard to trust God through this and to do the right thing but right now I don't know what the right thing is.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, in Manhattan, was one of the most photographed views of the United States. Inaugurated in 1973, with 110 floors and 412 meters high, it was the highest construction of that time. On 11th September 2001, two commercial flights, hijacked by terrorists, hit the Twin Towers. The two tower had suffered a complete structural collapse in 104 minutes, after the first attack. In the September 11 attacks, about 2,800 people died and 1796 were not found.

I feel sort of bad for President Obama. I certainly would not want to be in his position, but if I remember right, he did promise some things that I think in reality he is not going to be able to deliver on. The "stimulus" plan is becoming a joke really, did they really think the american people were going to fall for that? I may be oversimplifying things but why can't they just divvy up the billion, no trillions of dollars and cut us each a 10-20-30 thousand dollar check. That sure would stimulate the economy! Are they afraid we would all save the money? I know I would save some AND spend some, how about you?

Who exactly is in charge of appointing cabinet members? They certainly have not done their homework. If the president wants to keep washington insiders on the inside he will just be getting more of the same, corrupted unethical politicians who are only interested in personal gain. Wait, I seem to remember that President Obama wanted "change", and not the politics as usual stuff. Is there really not one person outside of washington qualified to serve in a cabinet position? Think outside the box Mr. President, please.

And is it just me, or are the Obama disciples being very, very quiet these days?

I encourage anyone that is a Christian on here to pray for President Obama. I pray that he would come to know Christ and lead this country in an honorable way. It really is our only hope.

 Citigroup’s New French Jet!

by Greta Van Susteren

The New York Post ( Jennifer Keil and Chuck Bennet) is reporting that Citigroup, who is burning throught a $45 BILLION taxpayer funded rescue, just pushed through a purchase at their company for a new $50 million dollar corporate jet.

And if you have not had enough, how about this? the $50 million dollar jet isn’t even American made so that Americans have jobs !  It is a French built jet!!

Here are some pics of the fancy jet your rescue money is helping the company buy…isn’t it nice that they can fly in comfort?    leather seats and leather sofas and an entertainment system (on YOUR dime?)  (why can’t they at least watch a movie on their laptops and save probably $50,000!!!)

Fri, 23 Jan 2009 17:08:00 -0800 Yep, the economy is in big trouble, so....let's fund abortion overseas with taxpayer money. Genius. http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/yep-the-economy-is-in-big-trou http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/yep-the-economy-is-in-big-trou

Obama to lift ban on U.S.-funded abortions abroad
Liz Sidoti and Matthew Lee - Associated Press Writers - 1/23/2009 10:50:00 AM
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama plans to sign an executive order ending the ban on federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortions, officials told The Associated Press on Friday. The move, long expected in the Democratic president's first week in office, will be welcomed by liberals and criticized by pro-life supporters.

The policy bans U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of U.S. Agency for International Development funds, from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion. It is also known as the "global gag rule," because it prohibits taxpayer funding for groups that even talk about abortion if there is an unplanned pregnancy.

Also known as the "Mexico City policy," it has been reinstated and then reversed by Republican and Democratic presidents since GOP President Ronald Reagan established it in 1984. President Bill Clinton ended the ban in 1993, but President George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 as one of his first acts in office.

The Democratic official and senior U.S. official who disclosed the plans did so on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to pre-empt Obama's announcement.

Obama was expected to sign the executive order at a low-key event, one day after the 36th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.

The move was not a surprise as both Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will oversee foreign aid, had promised to do away with the ban during the presidential campaign. Clinton is to visit the U.S. Agency for International Development, through which much U.S. foreign aid is disbursed, later on Friday.

Thu, 01 Jan 2009 22:17:00 -0800 Happy New Year everyone http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/happy-new-year-everyone-1 http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/happy-new-year-everyone-1

I am not one for new years resolutions and not much of a list maker but another post on here got me to thinking, so here are a few things I would like to accomplish this year:

1. Memorize more scripture.  Here is my 1st: Psalm 119:11  Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.

2. Love husband unconditionally.

3. Clean out garage with said husband to be able to use more efficiently.

4. Take a knitting class as soon as I find one that doesn't always turn into a man bashing session for disillusioned married women.

5.  Learn more crockpot recipes.

6.  Be on time for work.

7.  Stop being so nosy.

8.  Learn more about my Mac to be able to use to full capacity.

9.  Spend much less time watching TV.

10. Get more exercise.

We will see what happens.  I try not to set too many goals, because I know God is in charge and He has a way of working things out for me in ways I would never dream of.

 It's all good.

I don't think it is in print yet, but it should be a good read.

I heard someone call the election of Obama the celebritization of American Politics.   The first wave of the MTV generation comes of voting age, what did we expect, really.  The over sexualization of young people, corruption in politics and the business world, the soap opera of Illinois politics, Saturday Night Live elects Minnesota's next senator... It's like every bad reality show rolled into one.  At the library I work at I sometimes step back and look at all the magazine covers each month, celebrating babies born out of wedlock, lesbian actresses getting married, movie stars setting the "moral" standards for so many young people.

Like sheep to the slaughter, really.

Thank God there is hope in Him.

Sun, 28 Dec 2008 09:23:49 -0800 I want proof. http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/i-want-proof http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/i-want-proof That is what my husband says at the end of every conversation we have about the Lord. Being saved and married to an unsaved person is difficult, but not impossible. I am trusting the Lord for his salvation in His time not mine, and in the meantime I have to trust God to work out things about myself that are not in line with scripture. Unconditional love is not humanly possible. You want to love unconditionally, but really it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that it is even remotely possible. I constantly get in the way if I try to do it the way I think it should be done. This is further proof that it is God who opens our eyes, and God who gets the glory. It is nothing we do, it is what He has done. It can only be that way, because if we could save ourselves before you know it we would make kings and queens of ourselves and take God off the throne in no time. He alone can open a persons eyes to see the truth.
I was reading in another blog someone mentioned all kinds of "laws" about eating shrimp and stoning people out of the Old Testament in Leviticus I believe. What people need to understand is that we are no longer under the law, in the old testament the priests had to go into the temple every year to sacrifice and slaughter a lamb as atonement for the people sins. That is how awesome God's plan is, we no longer have to offer sacrifices or live under the levitical laws because God himself provided the sacrifice once and for all. His name is Jesus. So when people say what about this law or that law trying to build a case against Christians, they are using something that isn't even relevant anymore. We live in New Testament times now, and it is only by God's grace that the world is being given the time to accept the sacrifice God has provided for sinful man. Thank God for Jesus.

I am resting after wrapping presents, baking cookies, a pan of lasagna, another pan of cheesy potatoes to go with the ham and other dishes at my daughters house tomorrow morning. The festivities start at 11:00 am.
All my children will be there, Tracy is home from Oklahoma, and we are having a great time together!
We are doing a white elephant this year and just buying toys for the children. It is really about being together for us, which I am so grateful for. The greatest gift of all is the fact that 2 of my children are serving the Lord and we are praying for God to open the eyes of the rest of my family. He is more than able!

I live in Michigan. People here are afraid. There is such a sense of uncertainty in the air it is palpable. Everyone is wondering what they should do to keep homes, jobs, food on the table. I wonder what lengths people would go to if they knew this world is not all there is?

Eternity is a LOT longer than this life we lead.

What plans have you made for that? Jesus as your personal savior is incomparable to the retirement package you put your hope in. He is far above any car company, financial institution, politician or anything else this world has for us to pin our hopes on. Don't put your trust in anything but God. He will never disappoint or let you down. Seek God and you will find Him. Now is the time, more than ever to get right with God. I pray you will.

Mon, 24 Nov 2008 16:58:00 -0800 Hair color is a funny thing http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/hair-color-is-a-funny-thing http://iheartjesus.posterous.com/hair-color-is-a-funny-thing

I am 55 yrs old and for years I dyed my brown hair brown. I decided to stop when it got too hard to keep it a rich brown, all the fading was really getting old...ha! I would have to dye it in the middle of a vacation at the beach if I didn't wear my hat. (I can't wait till summer to go hatless again.)
So this last haircut got rid of 95% of my colored hair and the reaction to my new whiteness is hilarious.
Everyone comments, here are some of the fun ones!
1. You don't look old at all.
2. Did you get a haircut or something?
3. You look hot.(now that's funny!)
4. It looks so natural.
5. What did you do to your hair?

Those are just a few, really the funniest thing about it is when people just look at you and you can tell they are trying to figure it out. I work at the circulation desk at a library, so I see the same people every week, all my women friends are proud of me and love it . I love it too, it's really white around my face kind of like natural highlights now that I see how much I have no wonder it was such a struggle to keep looking good.

Now it can look good all on it's own...and I feel FREE!
