A question.

You know how you have to defrag a pc every once in a while when it starts getting bogged down?

Do you ever have to do that to a Mac...and if you do, how do you do it?

It is probably a really dumb questions, but if I let that stop me from asking I wouldn't learn anything.

Its not dumb. You do but not very often. First off go to: ApplicationsUtilitiesDisk Utility
Select the Hard Drive, make sure the options say "First Aid" at the top options horizontal list below the Disk Utility top bar. Click "Repair Disk Permissions". This will repair any errored sections on the disk.

The last resort is to buy Disk Warrior. Its about 100 or so bucks. You run it off the cd and it does major repairs to your hard drive. Thats if Disk Utility does not fix the problems. You should only have to run this app once or twice a year. Try Disk Utility first off.

About

I am a born again child of God, wife, mother, grandmother.

I love Jesus, I love my family and I love people.

My husband and I live in an empty nest. We met in high school and just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.
Our 4 children are 30, 28, 26 and 24. (girl, girl, boy, girl)
I have 4 grandchildren, twin boys that are 8, and two girls 6 and 7.
Children are a blessing from God and I am SO blessed!
I just made the switch from pc to mac... my MacBook is awesome, her name is Whitey.

I know how to quilt, just learned to knit and love to be creative.

I have a great desire to see people come to know Jesus and I pray this blog will help point the way.
