I am going to miss summer

Here is a tomato I picked for BLT's for dinner tonight. I am going to miss
summer so much, it has been a great summer in a lot of ways. My daughter
staying with us, falling in love with Bella the cat, spending time with my
grandkids, growing closer to the Lord each day, that last is most precious
to me of all. It is a walk that is not always easy, but is always just what
He knows I need... Help me to grow Lord!

"Handling" an unplanned pregnancy

Really, how do you handle an unplanned pregnancy?

I went through that with my 2nd oldest daughter, she got pregnant at 18.  You don't handle anything. You are shocked, disappointed, sad.  You cry.  A lot.  You are embarassed to tell anyone, like it is you that made a mistake, I was really surprised at how ashamed I felt! My friend at work who is now raising her grandson, waited to tell everyone until around the 8th month her teenage daughter was pregnant.  He is now 9 and a real blessing, as are my twin grandsons.  There are no illegitimate children, just illegitimate parents.  Actually I had 2 daughters become pregnant before they were married...my second daughter, my oldest, wasn't even sure who the father was.  We went to the abortion clinic together, what a day that was, one we both would like to pretend never happened.  As soon as we saw the ultrasound we could NOT go through with it.  No way.

Thank you God that  you did not allow that to happen, her daughter is such a blessing.

This is all before I was saved, life was very hard without God.  Not to say is is all easy now, but I have hope in God and that makes everything easier!

So these headlines about how Sarah Palin (sp? see I am not politically minded at ALL!) handled her daughters pregnancy are so ridiculous.  You handle it and then you go on.  Why would anyone think that would have any bearing on her vice presidency?  What a cheap shot at her.

After that I needed to post something pretty

Everyone should have a camera small enough to carry
around. I love it!
Mine is a Sony CyberShot...I would recommend it, it is a great little
camera.

Politics...yuck!

Obama scares me.

He seems more like a hollywood actor than a president.  Oh sure he has the "charisma" that makes everyone fawn over him.  People in the US seem so gullible and will fall for anything popular, look how everyone loves Oprah like her opinions actually matter, it is sad really.

I really don't follow politics at all, I haven't a clue really what left or right wing means, or if I am a democrat or republican, I don't think I am either.  I will probably vote for McCain, just because he is NOT Obama.  The thing is I don't really care because I know and trust that God is in control.  He knows the beginning and the end.  I trust Him with my life, not some political figure with nothing but ulterior motives, what a freedom there is in knowing you can trust God for your future!  Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy to me.

Just because you can't see Him doesn't mean He doesn't exist.  My husband wants proof before he will believe, he is not saved btw, but God has really given me the grace to love him and hopefully see him saved and serving the Lord. That is what I am praying for.

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my little political rant.

I guess it is a byproduct of watching television more than I should.

I miss my daughter

My youngest daughter moved back home for a couple months before leaving for Rhema Bible College in Oklahoma, I miss her so much!  We had a wonderful couple of months together. Before she got saved it would not have been possible to live together at all...she was into drugs, drinking and sleeping around.  Thank GOD he opened her eyes and delivered her from it all! What a miracle, He completely turned her life around...God is real, people!

One day you will stand before Him.

Make sure you are ready.

Awesome testimony to read, if you want more go to the website.

This is an exerpt from the web page:
Does God exist? We know God exists because he pursues us. He is
constantly initiating and seeking for us to come to him.

I was an atheist at one time. And like most atheists, the issue of people
believing in God bothered me greatly. What is it about atheists that we
would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that we
don't believe even exists?! What causes us to do that? When I was an
atheist, I attributed my intentions as caring for those poor, delusional
people...to help them realize their hope was completely ill-founded. To be
honest, I also had another motive. As I challenged those who believed in
God, I was deeply curious to see if they could convince me otherwise. Part
of my quest was to become free from the question of God. If I could
conclusively prove to believers that they were wrong, then the issue is off
the table, and I would be free to go about my life.

I didn't realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on my
mind, was because God was pressing the issue. I have come to find out that
God wants to be known. He created us with the intention that we would know
him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and he keeps the question
of his existence squarely before us. It was as if I couldn't escape thinking
about the possibility of God. In fact, the day I chose to acknowledge God's
existence, my prayer began with, "Ok, you win..." It might be that the
underlying reason atheists are bothered by people believing in God is
because God is actively pursuing them.

I am not the only one who has experienced this. Malcolm Muggeridge,
socialist and philosophical author, wrote, "I had a notion that somehow,
besides questing, I was being pursued." C.S. Lewis said he remembered,
"...night after night, feeling whenever my mind lifted even for a second
from my work, the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly
desired not to meet. I gave in, and admitted that God was God, and knelt and
prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all
of England."

Lewis went on to write a book titled, "Surprised by Joy" as a result of
knowing God. I too had no expectations other than rightfully admitting God's
existence. Yet over the following several months, I became amazed by his
love for me.

How great that God wants us to know Him and have a relationship with Him.

He even made a way for us to do it.

Jesus is the way.

Beautiful

Just look at one flower.

Do you seriously think this was created by a big bang...?
Nature speaks to me (and you if you will admit it) that there is a Creator
and He is AMAZING!
